17. Achieving a “Class A” Finish

The successful application of a “Class A” electrocoating finish requires close attention to detail and careful monitoring of the coating operation from cleaning to curing – and beyond.  This presentation examines system design, process requirements, parts management, record keeping, and ISO certification concerns inherent to meeting the necessities of “Class A” electrocoating.  Considerations stemming from a powder topcoat option will be addressed, as well as the role played by interaction and cooperation with the customer to streamline the process, minimize turnaround time, optimize production and maximize satisfaction.
